>>Article: Top Ten Ways to Embrace Your Abundance

What does "wealth" mean to you?

For some of us, it means lots of money. For others, it means a life rich in assets of people we care for and experiences we have. Wealth can encompass all of those and more. When I use the word "wealth" below, I mean the word to include money AND the other areas of wealth in our lives.

  1. Express Gratitude. Gratitude precedes joy. Take a moment to say thank you for the fantastic people you know, for your family, for the wealth you have in your life now.
  2. Focus on Abundance: This seems obvious yet many of us focus on our lack. I used to be guilty of focusing on how little sleep I'd gotten--and that was before I'd even set a foot on the floor. Start focusing on what you DO have, and you'll begin to experience a shift towards abundance and wealth.
  3. Keep an Abundance List. You can include your garden, friends, family, money earned, surprise money, surprise experiences. Writing this down will remind you of what you have and appreciate in life.
  4. Use Your Imagination: Visualize that you have all you need and desire. You have the home you want, the clothes you want, the car you want to drive. What shows up for you? Do you feel sad, happy, resistant? If internal negative chatter starts up, turn down the volume and keep imagining.
  5. Give. When we feel lack, we often react by holding tightly to our resources. When we hold onto our resources so tightly, it has the effect of not allowing anything IN as well as not allowing anything OUT. Give something away. Maybe you have an item you don't need and that someone else would love. Maybe you've always wanted to donate money to a cause and never did before. This is your chance!
  6. Open Yourself to Receive. Often, we don't feel comfortable accepting gifts from friends. I was taught at a young age to say no to every gift and saying no can deprive someone else of the joy of giving.
  7. Eliminate the Need to Deserve. Do you ever think you must deserve a thing before you can have it? The word "deserve" implies that we must do something to get something.
  8. Identify Your Assets. Get clear about your talents, skills, dreams, and resources. What resources do you have in your circle of family and friends? Collaboration with others creates prosperity. If you want to create a new project, whom else might you contact to help?
  9. Get Silly. Turn on some salsa music and dance around your house. Feel free to close the shades before you do this.
  10. Invent Your Body of Abundance. What does your body do and look like when you feel abundant? What does an abundant posture look like to you? What does a body of lack look like? Practice moving between the two. Which feels more comfortable? Which body contains more possibility for you?

>>Off the Bookshelf: The Soul of Money

This book underscored the importance of ideas it took me years to figure out. If you would like to improve your relationship with wealth, abundance, and money, then I suggest you get this book. Its ideas on the lie of scarcity (there really IS enough for all of us), changing the dream (that we all have the power to change the dream and the course of lives) will shift your thinking towards realizing we have sufficient resources to do what we desire.
