>>Quotable Quote

Nothing is more honorable than a grateful heart.--Seneca

Deborah's Note: I am grateful to all of you for being a part of this creative community. I am grateful to the cicadas sing me to sleep at night.

>>Article: Deepak Chopra, Possibility, and Creativity

Reading Deepak Chopra, I came upon the following passage:

"Nonlocal mind. . .is pure soul or spirit, known as universal consciousness. Operating outside the boundaries of normal space and time, it is the great organizing and unifying force in the universe, infinite in scope and duration. By its nature, nonlocal mind connects all things because it IS all things. It requires no attention, no energy, no approval; it is whole unto itself, and therefore attracts love and acceptance. It is imminently creative, the source from which all creativity flows. It allows us to imagine beyond the boundaries of what local mind sees as "possible," to think "outside the box" and to believe in miracles."

Chopra says nonlocal mind is whole unto itself and attracts love and acceptance. This relates to creativity for me, because we must know our creativity will renew, refresh, and grow every day.

With all of the above in mind, I created this Creativity Guide for myself:

**I am confident that that my creativity will be refreshed and renewed to a higher level than yesterday.

**I am learning from my daily practice.

**I accept my stumbles and mistakes and do not judge them.

**Every day, I move forward on my writing and artistic journey no matter what.

During the past few months, I went through a difficult time with my poetry and wasn't sure of the outcome. I made a decision early on not to judge myself or the hard time I was experiencing. I knew I would come around the corner having learned an important lesson and kept saying--and believing--that. Months, yes months, passed and seemingly nothing changed. At time I felt frustrated at the situation, yet I continued not to judge myself and continued to practice. I practiced writing. I practiced accepting my current situation. I didn't like the situation AND I accepted it as what was happening in the present.

Out of the blue, I found a mentor. Out of the blue, someone called me to offer unsolicited editorial advice on my work. In my journal I found myself able to articulate the problem I was having and to figure out ways to work through it.

When you know something from a deep place in yourself, you can make it happen. I hear this again and again: Our words create our reality.

Wow, get it? Your words create your reality.

CONSIDER: What are you saying right now that is helping and hindering your successes?

TRY THIS: Re-read the Chopra quote above and write your own Creativity Guide. Use verbs in the present tense. By writing "I am" instead of "I will," you direct your subconscious that you are already living that intention and your subconscious will begin to believe it and to live it.
