>> How to Enjoy the Joys of Idleness
Idleness breeds change and resistance. Idleness creates creativity. Idleness costs nothing. Idleness is rarely respected in our culture of DO DO DO. The great philosopher, Bertrand Russell, says there is far too much work done in the world.
How about in your life? Do you think you are doing too much?
I know people who never want to be idle and never want to admit to idleness. You have the power to change that mindset in yourself. Celebrate having no plans. Try sitting in a chair for at least five minutes and do NOTHING--no drinking, no eating, no cat petting, no talking. What a luxury! What a way to treat yourself well!
AFTERWARDS: Did you feel anxious, pleased, happy, nervous? Where did your mind want to dwell?
Practice makes perfect. Try this every day for a week and see what happens. Does it get easier? Do you enjoy it? Do you feel frustrated with it? With the answers to these questions, you can learn a lot about yourself.
Write me and let me know how doing nothing goes.
